Guide to Birthing and Breeding
Obviously these two although connected, are vastly different, so I shall start with the part that comes first. Breeding.
Unlike most rpgs Sierra doesn't have an "absolute" time of breeding. Wolves may conceive at anytime during the year. Female wolves reach maturity on Sierra, at 2 years of age, male wolves reach maturity on Sierra at 3 years of age. Neither wolf can sire a child, until after reaching maturity.
Wolves may birth only one litter of pups per year, however they may conceive once every three months. If your female gets pregnant before a year is up since her last birthing, she must loose the pups in some form or fashion. This is to keep pup numbers from over-running the site.
The breeding thread, must be kept to a maximum PG-13 rating, and must fade to black. I will not allow sexual theme's to be role played out on site.
Sierra wolves generally carry 1-5 pups, for a period of 2 months.
Once a wolf is pregnant, you must post on the once upon a puppy board and let everyone know of the arrivals.
In order for a female wolf to conceive both the male and female wolf must be willing to have pups. Rape babies do not exist on Sierra, without administration's approval.
Pups generally stay with their mother until they are around 18 months old, then they start roaming out on their own, until they reach maturity.
