Secondary Ability: Because Akemi is blind, she uses the Earth as an extension of her senses. She can sense the subtle vibrations in the earth, which allows her to "see" the things that are around her. The only downside to this it that she has to be in contact with the earth for this ability to work. Because she can sense vibrations, she can also tell when someone is lying to her. When someone lies, there is a physical reaction. She senses this reaction, and is able to tell when she is being lied to.

Extra: her ears are larger than normal, but not by much. She also has two tails, rather than one.



Overview: Akemi is a rather normal Earth wolf. She has mostly earth-tone brown and black in her fur, but she has some white on her underbelly and her paws. Her unseeing eyes are milky white with near-invisible pupils, and most of the time they lack emotion. Every once in a while, though, you will catch a glint of emotion in her eyes. Her elemental symbol is on display for all to see; a brown leaf smack in the middle of her face, outlined in white fur. Her ears are slightly larger than normal, but she doesn't particularly care. In fact, she believes that this is part of what makes her hearing so great. She has a second tail, which she is surprisingly proud of.

Likes: quiet, rain, being able to see everything around her through the earth, the sound of pups playing



Dislikes: being blind, too much heat, too much noise



Personality: Akemi is fond of the quiet because it allows her to hear more of what is going on around her. She likes being able to see with the earth because this allows her to focus on whatever direction she wants, no matter what direction she's looking. Because this ability is centered around vibrations in the earth, she can tell if someone is approaching her. Thus, it is nearly impossible to sneak up on her. 

On the other paw, she dislikes not being able to see the way everyone else does. She dislikes when there is too much noise because individual sounds are more difficult for her to distinguish. 

In her heart, Akemi is a kind and loving young wolf. However, being blind has taught her to be wary. She will give you the benefit of the doubt, but if she notices that you are lying to her, you are gone. She is protective of her pack, of her family. If you threaten her family, she will be on you without hesitation.

However, she does not like to fight. In fact, she would rather avoid it. She doesn't want to be responsible for someone else getting hurt.

Overview: Akemi was born to the previous alpha pair, Otona and Temoka. Temoka was sickly, and Akemi's litter was the only one that had any live pups in it. However, Akemi's potential siblings were either stillborn or died shortly after birth. From a litter of five pups, Akemi was the only survivor. She was born with a pair of tails, rather than just one, and her parents knew right away she would be special.

Her blindness was not obvious at first, as no pups can see upon first breath. However, when her eyes opened, they were not the usual brown. In fact, her eyes were a milky white color. Her parents were simply grateful that one pup had survived. 

She was six months old when she started showing signs of her element. The leaf-shaped mark between her eyes began to darken, and then outline itself in white. She was marked as an Earth pup. This made her parents happy, and they began to have hope that she would be different. 

Just after her six-months, her father taught her how to make a Companion. He already had one of his own, and he knew that a Companion would be a good guide for his blind daughter. It took some time, as the young pup didn't know what a rabbit looked like, but after a few hours, a new Companion Rabbit sat at Akemi's feet. 

She didn't have much in the way of friends growing up, as she wasn't able to play with the other pups. She was, however, able to explore the camp with her new Companion. 

The months passed quickly, and when Akemi was a year and a half, something new happened. She was walking around the camp, with the assistance of Leah, and between steps something changed inside her. She put a paw down, and suddenly she could see the layout of their camp, the area around it, and everyone inside it. She froze, momentarily alarming her father. But when she told him she could see through the Earth, he was ecstatic. 

She began developing this ability, and, though later than the others, she was assigned a mentor to help her realize her Earth abilities. She also took some lessons from the healers, so she could recognize the herbs and be able to perform basic first-aid. 

She had just turned 3 when her father went out with a hunting party to take care of a bear threat that had been reported by a scout. However, when they returned, the hunting party had been reduced from five to two. And, among the dead, was Otona. Akemi and her mother were both devastated. After a few days of mourning for the ones they had lost, Akemi knew she would have to take over for her father. Her mother was older now, and never had been fit for rule. Temoka retired and joined the elders, and Akemi became the new Alpha.
