Guidebook to Navigating Sierra
When you click midnightofsierra.com. The first thing you will notice is the banner, a huge shout out, to our graphics designer Briar, for all of her awesome graphics!!! Directly under-neath the banner, is the navigation bar. On the navigation bar, there are some buttons.
AS A GUEST- The first button "sierra" will take you directly back to the forum's homepage. The second button "recent" will take you to a page, that contains all the most recent posts on the forum. The third button "hold" is for the bank and is not usable for guest, for member's the page with your bank information displayed on it, will display. The fourth button "store" will take you straight to the site store, where member's can buy things for their character's, or even purchase the right to more characters. The fifth button "characters" will take you to a page containing all of the characters, their elements. their ranks, and who plays them.

The third button "Profile" will take you straight to your member profile, where you can edit any information. ~As a Guest~
The next thing you should notice, is the login. Its probably a little bit different then what you are used too. It will call you, a rogue wolf, which is another way of saying guest, and will ask you to either login, or register. If you already have an account on the forum, you can click login to login to your account. If you do not have an account already on the forum, you should click register to create an account on the forum. Your first account should be an OOC or Out of Character account.
Directly under the guest welcome, is a list of four links. The first link, "navigation" brings you to this thread, The second link "rules" will take you to a page, that contains all of the rules of Sierra. The third link "important links" will take you to a page that contains all of the most important links on the site, to help you find them. The fourth link "Advertising and Affiliating" will take you to the advertising, and affiliate's board so you can either advertise, or affiliate your site, or both.

~As a Member~
The next thing you will notice is the login, it will greet you by welcoming you back to the den, then it will give you two links. One to switch accounts, and one to logout. Each member, will have a minimum of 2 accounts, one in character, and one out of character. Instead of logging out of your account, and logging back in, you can click the switch account link, to just switch to one of your other accounts.
Directly under the welcome, you will find a line that will read ~Don't forget to check your messages~ then it will list an inbox and an unread number. The "Messages" part of that line, will take you to your private messaging box on Sierra. The numbers, tell you how many messages you have totaled in your inbox, and how many messages you have unread in your inbox.

The next thing you should note, is the side-bar. Along the right side of Sierra you will notice huge white letters that read "CBOX & SEASONS". If you click the white letters, it will toggle a side-bar. On the top of the side-bar is a guest-friendly, user-friendly chat box, that you are welcome to come chat in. The bottom of the side-bar contains the seasons and weather for Sierra to help you RP. Clicking the white letters, will once more toggle the side-bar off.
Next along the top of Sierra, directly under the banner, the navigation bar, and the login. You will notice a table, with three sections. The first section is titled "News" and contains all of the site news, such as updates. At the top of the second section, is the OTM's or Of the Months. There are 4 OTM winners every month. A thread is posted, where members can vote for all four places, you may nominate anyone but yourself.
Out of Character Members, Characters, Threads, and IC couples, will be nominated to win. 1 out of each category will win, and be displayed in that section. Directly underneath the OTM display, is the template, for creating a link to a member's open thread. It is to be placed in the cbox to the direct left of the template. Only members can post open threads. In the third section are the In Character, or IC things. The top, is for In Character news, such as what is going on during the role-play and brand new characters entering the Sierra's. The bottom, contains a Cbox, for posting open threads ONLY. - These only display on the main page.
The next thing you should notice, is a long line of feathers, and colored numbers. Each feather, and its color represents an elemental power, and each number color represents a gender. These are the character counts. The red feather, is for fire. The blue feather, is for water. The purple feather, is for air. The brown feather, is for earth. The green feather, is for life. The black feather, is for death. The yellow feather, is for light. The gray feather is for dark. The white feather, is for no element. The blue colored numbers are for male characters, the pink colored numbers are for female characters. At the very end of the line, the totals are listed site-wide. - These only display on the main page.
Next you will notice a group of 5 bars. Each bar is the category. If you click on a bar, all of the den rooms will slide underneath it, where they can be viewed.
The first bar is "the novice". This is the category for learning all about Sierra. The first den room is called "The Sierra Story" it contains the plot of Sierra, as well as the story behind sierra, and its opening. The second den room is called "Rule-Book" and contains the four sections of rule's that every member of Sierra must know and agree to before joining our den. The third den room is called "Guidebooks" and it contains several guides to help your role-playing time here on Sierra more fun, and easier.
The second bar is "the land of creation". This is the category that allows you to create characters, and view other members character's. The first den room is called "Create a Character" and is for designing, and creating characters to be role-played on Sierra. The second den room is called "Companion Designing" and is for creating your companion bunny, if you so desire to have one. The third den room is called "Once Upon A Puppy" and is where all of the puppy stuff goes. It is where you create puppies, and post to receive babies. The fourth den room is called "Adopt A Friend" and is the adoptable's room. This is where members can post characters they do not wish to play, and other members can adopt them and role-play with them, as if they were their own character. The fifth den room is called "archives" and is where the staff moves old character forms that were never completed, and old post's from the adoptable's and once upon a puppy rooms. The sixth and final den room is called "accepted" and is where all of the accepted character form's are moved.
The third bar is "pack rendezvous". This is the category for member's to help keep everything organized, and do all the things they need to do OOC. The first room "Position" is where all of the staff positions, and Alpha positions are to be applied for. You may not create an Alpha wolf, without your character first being accepted, on a trial basis, and you posting in the position's room applying for that position. The second room "Character Records" is where the forms are kept for members to be added to the Character's page that is linked to on the navigation bar. The third room "Journal's" is restricted to one thread per member. And is available for whatever you wish to use that thread for. Most member's use it for a template library. The fourth room "Character Log" is restricted to one thread per member. This is the room for keeping all of your character information in one location. This thread, is to be linked to your mini-profile. The fifth and final room is "Tried and True" and is for posting code's, and for checking wording of things to make sure everything looks good.

The second room "Usonai" is basically the badlands of Sierra. The third room "Atlaisyusdi" is the home of the wolves that are neither completely good, nor completely bad. The fourth room "Ficac" is the territories, where all wolves and other animals can post. The fifth room "Concordance" is the place where in character contest's are held. The sixth room "archives" is where staff places all old role-play post's for future reference. All of these rooms are to ONLY be posted in by Out of Character accounts.

This is where the plotting, and IC chat rooms are found as well. The second room "Away" is so you can post, to let other members, and staff know when you are going to be away. The fourth room "Games" is for all site games, both in character, and out of character. The fifth room "Plug-In's" is the advertisements and affiliates board for people to post their site's.
Once you have looked at all the bars, the next thing you should notice, is the Information and Statistic's portion of the site. First is the group howls and howls. That tells you how many threads, or "group howls" and how many posts or "howls" have been made site-wide since the site was created. Next, is the Wolves online section, this lists all the staff, den members, and rogue wolves that are online currently. The names are color coded, to match the display legend below. Next, is the Wolves Online in the last 24 hours. That tells you how many staff, den members, and rogue wolves have been online in the past 24 hours. The names are coded to match the display legend that's listed below. Directly across from this, is the section that tells you how many "wolves" or members are on the forum.
Down below, is the display legend, hovering your mouse over each color will tell you what it stands for.
Next is the affiliates section, where all of the affiliates banners are placed for advertising purposes. This only display's on the main page.
Next are clickable staff banners. To help you find staff more easily.
